Where can I go for support?

Sexual Health Australia is a confidential counselling service, specialised in sexual health and relationship issues. We have qualified relationship counsellors who offer support for individuals dealing with infidelity. Sexual Health Australia provides both individual and couple's counselling. Face to face counselling is offered in Sydney CBD and phone counselling is offered nationally.

We tend to apply an integrative model, predominantly using a solution focussed approach. Depending on the couple's/individual's goals, we would focus on things like:

• Giving directions to the unfaithful partner as to how to reveal details around the affair
• Providing guidelines for their partner on how to deal with the affair
• Gain an understanding of the situation
• Work towards understanding the meaning of the relationship
• Find out what the individual needs are within the relationship
• Communicating/discussing feelings
• Reconstructing and reinventing the relationship
• Working on building trust
• Strengthen the capacity to make choices and move on
• Working on dealing with the emergency phase and getting on with life
