Definition of Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder
Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder is the absence of sexual fantasies, thoughts, and/or desire for, or receptivity to, sexual activity, which causes personal/interpersonal distress.
3 Criteria for Diagnosis:
- Lack of sexual fantasy and desire to engage in sexual activityThis absence of fantasy and desire must produce marked personal or interpersonal distress.
- The distress can affect both partners.
- That the disorder is not better viewed as a result of a major psychiatric or medical condition, or of substance abuse
